One of our greatest specialities and expertises has been in helping our children to prepare for their 11+ entrance exams. We have been helping children to prepare for the 11+ exams since 2010.

 

At the Alpha Study Centre we offer:

2. Interview classes for independent schools

3. Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning Tuition

The course covers all the essential elements required for both verbal and non-verbal reasoning in 11+ examinations, especially for independent school examinations.

The following areas are covered:

Verbal Reasoning; Alphabet and number codes, cloze activity; synonyms, antonyms and homonyms; basic logical/processing techniques; and additional work on the English components of GL Assessment style VR tests.

Non-Verbal Reasoning covers all the techniques (Odd-one out, Similarity, Sequences, Codes, Analogies and Matrix) required by GL Assessment and CEM style non-verbal tests.

Mock test: We hold termly mock tests to prepare for the 11+ exam. This helps keep track of the students’ progress and allows us to identify areas of weakness so that we can better help our students. The tests consist of English comprehension and writing (1 hour 20 minutes) and Maths (40 minutes). Students will receive personalised feedback with their results.
